FAQ's
QUESTION:
IS THERE A PROBLEM WITH
SPLINTERS?
ANSWER: Splinters have
not been a problem. First of
all, the type of raw material
that we use and the way we mill
the material results in a clean
cut on each end of the wood
fibers that make up WOODCARPET.
Secondly, splinters normally
occur when contact is made with
a fixed or rigid wood surface,
whereas WOODCARPET is made up of
loose wood fibers. Even though
these fibers will knit together
after being installed, they will
give or move upon contact.
QUESTION: WILL IT BECOME
A LITTER BOX FOR ANIMALS?
ANSWER: This has not been
a problem because WOODCARPET,
once installed, will settle,
compact, and knit together
forming a uniform surface.
QUESTION: IS THERE A
PROBLEM WITH TERMITES?
ANSWER: WOODCARPET does
not attract or repel termites.
Termites prefer a larger chunk
or piece of wood to bore into.
The wood fibers in WOODCARPET
are too small for that. Termites
might travel through the
WOODCARPET to get to lumber,
timbers, or wood siding that is
nearby.
QUESTION: DOES WOODCARPET
ATTRACT BUGS AND INSECTS?
ANSWER: When installed
properly, WOODCARPET does not
attract or repel bugs and
insects. Installing an adequate
drain system under the
WOODCARPET is crucial.
QUESTION: I'VE SEEN A
BLACK LIQUID LEACHING OUT OF THE
WOODCARPET. IS IT HARMFUL?
ANSWER: The black liquid
is a natural tanic acid that is
externally harmless to humans. A
similar acid leaches out of wet
leaves as well. The water is
dark because it contains natural
tannins from the wood. This dark
water is most commonly seen
coming from underneath the
WOODCARPET® after the first
couple of rain showers that the
WOODCARPET® is exposed to.
